Real Street Food Festival 29th April - 2nd May 2011

''Cooked in front of you while you wait, street food is not about snobbery, fine dining and pretension but about affordable, great value, exciting, ‘fresh as you can get’ food and the huge variety on display means that every possible taste is catered for.''
Co widzielismy i czego próbowalismy:
''Lulabelle is a beautiful 1959 Split Screen Campervan that has been lovingly refurbished to create a camperlicious cake camper! She loves parties and meeting people, relishes in admiring glances and loves hearing people say Yummy! Lulabelle attends outdoor events laden with homemade cakes and muffins and essentially serve high tea.''

The Arabica Food and Spice Company
''Arabica's falafel wraps are legendary at Borough Market. They are also the only known producers of the Label Anglaise chicken shawarma. Made with free-range chicken, delicately infused with orange and cardamom, it is an expression of their uncompromising sourcing and innovative approach to the flavours of the Levant.''

Rainha Santa Roast Hog
''Their signature sarnie - a Portuguese ciabatta (a softer dough than the traditional Italian ciabatta) into which they ladle a generous serving of home made apple sauce, spicy roquette salad and then their roast hog. Carved off in slices marinated again to take on all the flavours of the rosemary, fennel, garlic and various secret spices they use to lift their offering from a scrummy roast piece of pork to a small bit of heaven in a roll. Topped with a bit of crackling that has been lovingly basted and roasted with their secret marinade sauce.''

St-Germain
''St-Germain is the first liqueur in the world created in the artisanal French manner from freshly handpicked elderflower blossoms.''

Spinach and Agushi
''Spinach and Agushi is a successfully market stall venture in London where queues of hungry office workers would stand patiently in line each lunch time for their delicious dishes. They are still feeding famished Londoners at Broadway Market, Exmouth Market and Portobello Road Market.''

Luardo's
''Luardos is now in heavy duty operation Mon-Fri at Whitecross St Market in East London. Choose from burrito's with pulled pork, beef and chorizo, chicken - or any other special that might be on offer. Watch as the expert trio of Simon, Sarah and John show those burritos who\'s boss and slather then fold them into foiled submission. Luardos burritos are great if you wake up with a hangover.. they\'re a soft, hot cylinder of comfort, reassurance and ZING. Very special.''

Bhangra Burger
''These Indian spiced burgers will tempt your Asian tastebuds with their imaginatively named, Crazy Lamb Jalfrezzi Burger or their Bhangra Balti Beef Burger – all served in traditional flat bread with a mix of special recipe Indian chutneys, pickles and salads.''

Jamon Jamon
''Everyone loves a big old bubbling pan of paella. It is the ultimate theatrical street food and draws curious crowds wanting to soak up a bit of the Valenciana vibes. They are a small and creative food team, dedicated to producing delicious food wherever we are. Their signature dish is traditional spanish Paella, as engaging to watch being made as it is delicious to eat
We love the abundance of their paella servings but so too do we love the abundance of the Jamon Jamon team's fun and generosity.''

Stewed and Baked
''Formerly known as Souper Stew, Stewed and Baked will be bringing their fabulous selection of chicken, lamb and beef recipes, served fresh from the hob and piping hot. Featuring a veritable Grand Tour, their dishes will include – Caribbean Chicken, Malaysian Chilli Beef and lots of gluten free goodies for you to enjoy...''

Creperie Nicolas
''A beautifully restored 1965 Citroen H van that serves delicious sweet and savoury crepes and fresh Illy coffee – is owned by husband and wife team Gill and Keith. They decided to set up a creperie after talking about doing it for years. They enrolled at a ‘crepier school’ in Brittany, and learnt how to make authentic crepes and galettes. On the same trip they bought the van, in Normandy.''

Churros Garcia
''A regular at the Real Food Market at Southbank. They still mix our dough by hand, using wooden utensils, which is the traditional way of preparation. Their churros are flour-based and dairy-free. They can be served with sugar, Valor chocolate and cinnamon. Valor is the name of a very famous Spanish chocolate house, which specialises in thick, dark, dipping chocolate for Churros.''
